PROTECTIVE COATINGConcrete is used and protected by protective coatings in water and wastewater treatment plants, power facilities, chemical processing plants, refineries, mining operations and other many other industries and applications. When providing protection for concrete substrates, consideration must be given to proper surface preparation techniques, application methods and inspection. Concrete, unlike steel, is not a predictable and uniform substrate. It is very porous and absorbs water, chemicals and contamination which can cause spalling of the substrate and loss of structural integrity. Concrete is generally coated to provide a surface that is resistant to the environment, to upgrade the substrate’s resistance to immersion and exposure to splashes and spillages, to provide a surface of improved appearance, to protect the structural reinforcement from corrosion and to prevent degradation of the concrete. We are able to provide protective coatings for chemical, abrasion wear and slip resistance as well as anti-carbonation systems. |
